Acoustic Sciences Corporation was founded in 1984 by acoustic engineer Arthur M. Noxon in Eugene, Oregon. Noxon, holding an MS in mechanical engineering focused on acoustics and an MS in physics, invented the TubeTrap, the world's first corner-loaded acoustic bass trap, patented in 1985. The company expanded in 1998 to a 12,000 square foot production and research facility in Eugene and has received awards such as Stereophile's 1999 Accessory of the Year for StudioTraps.
