History

Atlas Cables was conceived around 2000 as an own-brand cable product for the UK specialist retailer buying group Mountain Snow.¹ The brand was later purchased by investors to support expansion into export markets and establish it as an independent supplier to multiple retailers worldwide.¹ The operating company, Atlas (Scotland) Limited, was incorporated on 5 December 2003 in Kilmarnock.⁶⁷ Three years prior to a 2019-2020 interview, the company invested in a larger manufacturing facility in Kilmarnock, tripling its footprint to enable growth.¹
