History

Founded in 1880 by brothers John, Thomas, and William Loake in Kettering, the company moved to a new factory on Wood Street in 1894, originally named the Unique Boot Factory. It registered the Loake brand after World War II and marked centenary celebrations in 1980. In 1997, it outsourced upper stitching to a joint venture factory near Chennai, India, while retaining core manufacturing in England; a new warehouse was added in 2007.
