History
Blu Dot was founded in 1997 by Maurice Blanks, John Christakos, and Charlie Lazor, three college friends who sketched initial designs in a small Minneapolis space after a backpacking trip in Asia. In April 2008, it received a $10 million growth equity investment from CHB Capital Partners. In 2018, Blu Dot won the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design.
