History

John Blundstone began manufacturing boots in Hobart, Tasmania, in 1870. The company faced financial issues and changed hands, acquired by the Cuthbertson family in 1932 who amalgamated operations under the Blundstone name. It acquired the John Bull brand from New Zealand in 2000. Ownership remains with Cuthbertson descendants Anne Routley and Helen Dickinson.¹²⁴
