G.A. Boulet founded the company in 1933 in Saint-Tite, Quebec, initially producing men's dress shoes. During World War II, Boulet became the primary supplier of boots and shoes to the Canadian Armed Forces, producing 200-300 pairs daily with 75% destined for military use. In 1964, G.A. Boulet's sons—Robert, Roger, and Reynald—began manufacturing western-style boots, making Boulet the first Canadian company to specialize in this category. The company has remained under continuous family ownership through four generations, with the third generation leading operations and a fourth generation now joining the business.
