History

Founded by John Sheppard, an Englishman who began compiling boxer records after attending a Naseem Hamed fight in 1995 and working for Hamed's promotions in 2000. BoxRec Ltd incorporated on 20 March 2018 in the UK. The site expanded to document fights from the Queensberry Rules era onward, with volunteer editors contributing to ratings and records.
