Overview

Bridlen produces Goodyear welted men's shoes using techniques like 360° channeling and 3D upper attachment to approximate bespoke quality in factory production. The brand combines Japanese design influences with Indian manufacturing, selling directly online and at trunk shows without retailers. It operates made-to-order with no stock, enabling an extensive range of 150 styles at competitive prices.

History

Founded around 2016 by shoemakers Hasan Mohamed and Jose Maria Watanabe, starting as an online store in Japan selling initially Blake-stitched shoes. In 2017, introduced Goodyear welting machines and expanded globally from its Chennai base. Now run by Affan Mohamed and Zahan Anees, with Watanabe involved; the factory also produces uppers and OEM shoes for others.
