ChickenPicks Guitar Picks
ActiveOverview
ChickenPicks is a niche manufacturer of heavy-duty guitar picks made from thermoset plastic, known for beveled edges that facilitate smooth string gliding and enhanced playability. The brand offers models in various thicknesses and shapes, targeting guitarists and bass players seeking durable alternatives to standard picks. It operates as a small family business with a direct-to-consumer online presence and endorsements from select artists.
History
ChickenPicks was developed by Eppo Franken in 1985 after he experimented with thermosetting plastic to create picks that better suited his playing needs. In 2010, Eppo and his wife Jolanda launched the family business, starting with a simple website and Twitter promotion. The company expanded its lineup over the years, introducing the Shredder model at 2.4 mm thickness in January 2024, bringing the total to 12 models and 53 pack variations.
