History

Founded in 1959 by Ed Conijn as a wood processing company, Contest Yachts launched its first sailing yacht, the CONTEST 25, establishing the brand name through international success. The company evolved from series production to semi-custom yacht building, expanding its range from 25 feet to the current 42-85 foot models. From 2012 onward, Contest began building motor yachts alongside its core sailing yacht business. The company remains family-owned and operated, now in its third generation under the leadership of Arjen Conijn.
