CSF was founded in 1947 in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, by Jadev Dolwani and family as a small automotive repair shop that expanded into radiator manufacturing. The company established US headquarters in Ontario, California, in 1987, later moving to Rancho Cucamonga, and entered the racing division with the fourth generation in 2009.
