History

Founded in 1993 by brothers Dirk and Uwe Merz and Peter Bulmahn as a small triathlon store in a garage in Weiterstadt, Germany. In 1994, the company moved to Darmstadt, acquired the bike store 'Fahrrad-Dietrich,' and established 'Citybike.' The Cucuma brand launched in 2002, followed by Sporthorizont GmbH in 2004 and relocation to a unified production and sales site in 2005; since 2014, it has maintained a 1,000 square meter in-house production area.
