History

De Bethune was founded in 2002 in L’Auberson, Switzerland, by master watchmaker Denis Flageollet and art collector David Zanetta. Key milestones include filing early patents for spherical moon-phase dials and pioneering cobalt-blue titanium dials via natural oxidation, developing 31 in-house calibers, and winning the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève ‘Aiguille d’Or’ for the DB28 in 2011. In 2021, it partnered with WatchBox to expand global reach; Pierre Jacques joined as CEO in 2011.
