Jean Déglon, a native of Curtilles near Lausanne, Switzerland, founded the company in 1921 by establishing a workshop in Thiers, France, the country's capital of cutlery production. His son René joined in 1950 and together they expanded the household cutlery business domestically and internationally. The company underwent industrialization in 1976 when it moved to modern manufacturing facilities. In 1980, Thierry Déglon (René's son) redirected the company toward professional cutlery specialization. The fourth generation joined in 2008 with Moïse Déglon, who became Chief Executive Officer in 2017 with a mandate to strengthen export development and brand recognition.
