Doxa was founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun in Le Locle, Switzerland, initially as 'Georges Ducommun, Fabriques DOXA,' focusing on watch movements and components. The company expanded with a factory built in 1900 and became Manufacture des Montres Doxa after Ducommun's death in 1936. In 1997, the Jenny family acquired Doxa, integrating it with their four-generation watchmaking heritage, and headquarters moved to Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, in 2019.
