ActiveOverview
Eduard Model Accessories is a Czech manufacturer specializing in plastic scale model kits, primarily aircraft, and finescale accessories such as photoetched brass parts and decals. It holds a prominent position in the scale modeling market, particularly among enthusiasts of 1/48 and 1/32 scale aircraft models, with products distributed worldwide.139
History
Eduard Model Accessories was formed in 1989 in the basement of co-owner Ctirad Kurak's house in Most, Czechoslovakia, by Kurak and Vladimir Sulc, who began producing photoetch parts for personal use two years earlier. In 1990, they released their first commercial product, a 1/48 scale Su-25K photoetch set, leading to rapid sales growth and a move to a proper office and production line in 1991. The company expanded into plastic model kits in 1993 and purchased a new building in Obrnice in 1996 for renovations and to introduce a new molding process.134
