Epic Water Filters

Overview

Epic Water Filters produces portable water filtration products including pitchers and bottles designed to remove over 200 contaminants from drinking water. It positions itself in the consumer water filtration market with NSF-certified filters emphasizing independent testing and sustainability.¹²⁷

History

Epic Water Filters was founded in April 2015 by Ash Heather, motivated by plastic pollution observed after moving from Asia to the U.S.² In early 2016, co-founder Joel joined in Boulder, Colorado, reincorporating the company to pursue clean water solutions inspired by his wife's experience in the 1993 Milwaukee cryptosporidium outbreak.² The company developed filtered bottles initially for poor water quality areas and expanded focus after the 2015 Flint crisis.²¹
