History

Etrel was founded in 2007 by a team from the power sector in Slovenia. In 2021, it was acquired by Landis+Gyr as part of its EV solutions expansion. Following Landis+Gyr's liquidation of its EV division, Etrel was acquired by KD Group in 2025. In October 2025, Etrel completed a strategic carve-out, separating from the Ocean EV Charging Platform to operate independently.
