Evercade

Overview

Evercade is a handheld retro gaming console developed and manufactured by British company Blaze Entertainment that focuses on delivering officially licensed emulated games through cartridge-based gameplay. The system plays games originally released for platforms including the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari Lynx, Intellivision, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PlayStation, and various arcade and home computer systems. Since its 2020 launch, Evercade has established itself as a physical retro gaming platform with partnerships from major publishers including Capcom, Atari, Bandai Namco, Interplay Entertainment, and numerous independent developers, offering over 500 games across its cartridge library as of 2024.

History

Blaze Entertainment was formed in 2018 with development of the Evercade beginning that same year, with the console announced in April 2019 as a portable retrogaming device capable of connecting to television screens. The Evercade launched on May 22, 2020, with ten game cartridges containing a combined total of 122 games. By May 2024, the platform had achieved one million physical cartridge sales and expanded to over 500 games. In 2023, Blaze Entertainment launched a second brand, HyperMegaTech, to create retro and gaming-focused products for a more casual gaming market, beginning with the Super Pocket console.
