History

GiantMouse was founded in 2015 by Danish designers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes, along with American entrepreneur Jim Wirth, after the three conceived the idea during a U.S. knife show. The brand adopted a unique business model of producing limited runs of 400 pieces per design (300 standard and 100 special versions), after which designs are retired. In 2018, GiantMouse launched their ACE line to provide high-quality production knives at more accessible price points. The company's GMX model won the 2023 Knife of the Year award at Blade Show Atlanta. As of 2025, Jesper Voxnaes and Jim Wirth continue to lead the company into a new phase of growth.
