German Vazquez Rubio was born in 1952 in Paracho, Michoacan, Mexico, and began making guitars professionally in 1968. He immigrated to Los Angeles, California in the early 1970s and established his guitar-making business there. The company has maintained its focus on handcrafted classical and flamenco guitars for over five decades. Armand Arnazzi joined as Managing Director in 2000 and continues to oversee operations. G.V. Rubio guitars have been featured in collaborations with established brands, including custom concert models made for Córdoba Guitars.
