History

HAIX was founded in 1948 by Xaver Haimerl in Mainburg, Bavaria, initially producing hiking and work boots. In 1992, Ewald Haimerl (the founder's son) developed the first leather firefighting boot, establishing the company's core market focus. HAIX North America was formally established in 2003 to serve the United States and Canadian markets, with headquarters later based in Lexington, Kentucky. The company expanded its product range in 2020 through the acquisition of workwear manufacturer Gustav Wahler.
