HELM Watches was founded in 2014 by Matt Cross, a watch enthusiast and former bicycle industry product developer, with roots in North Carolina. The first model, Vanuatu 300m Automatic, launched in October 2015 after Cross relocated to Hong Kong and southern China in 2013 to access manufacturing. The company maintains small-batch production and plans one new model annually.
