History
Honor was founded in 2013 as a Huawei sub-brand to enable competition in mid-range online smartphone markets. The brand expanded its product portfolio to include tablets, wearables, and laptops, with the MagicBook laptop line launching in April 2018. On November 17, 2020, Huawei sold Honor entirely to become an independent company majority-owned by Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd. Since independence, Honor has continued developing its smartphone lineup and introduced its first foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic VS, to the European market in 2023.
