History

Founded in 1856 in Edinburgh, Scotland, by American entrepreneurs Henry Lee Norris and Spencer Thomas Parmelee as the North British Rubber Company, using Charles Goodyear's vulcanization patent to produce rubber boots and other products. The company grew from four employees to 600 by 1875 and introduced its iconic Original Wellington Boot in 1956. It expanded into fashion collaborations, such as with Jimmy Choo in 2009, and now operates under Authentic Brands Group licensing.
