History

Isaia was founded in 1920 in Naples by Enrico Isaia as a fabric store for local tailors, later adding a small atelier for bespoke men's clothing. In 1957, brothers Enrico, Rosario, and Corrado Isaia relocated to Casalnuovo di Napoli, transforming it into a full tailoring company supplying prestigious Italian shops. The third-generation CEO Gianluca Isaia took over in the 1990s, shifting focus to global markets including the US, Europe, Japan, and China, while launching a tailoring school to train new artisans.¹²³⁶

Manufacturing

All garments are made in-house at the Casalnuovo di Napoli facility by 323 artisans, following Neapolitan sartorial techniques with full control from fabric cutting to final pressing. A blazer takes 13.5 hours to produce, with hand-stitched buttonholes requiring 10 minutes each. The company operates a school to train tailors in traditional skills.³⁴
