History

Josef Krampe and his wife founded an electrical and hi-fi store in 1949, leading to the invention of the patented JOKARI knife in the early 1950s for easier cable stripping. JOKARI GmbH & Co. KG was established in 1969, named after Josef (JO), Krampe (KA), and daughter Maria (RI), transitioning from a workshop to industrial production by 1974 with a new facility in Ascheberg-Herbern.²³⁴ In 1988, the company began direct worldwide distribution, expanded production in 2009 and 2021 with robotics and new warehousing, and remains family-owned in the third generation.²³
