Overview

Kiesel Guitars manufactures electric guitars, basses, pickups, and accessories in the United States, selling directly to consumers without retail intermediaries. The company focuses on customizable, high-quality instruments for professional and amateur musicians. It originated from the Carvin Guitars brand and reverted to the Kiesel name in 2015 after a separation from other production.

History

Founded in 1946 by Lowell Kiesel as L.C. Kiesel Company in Los Angeles, California, it relocated briefly to Nebraska before returning and renaming to Carvin after Kiesel's sons. The company operated as Carvin Guitars for decades with multiple California locations including Covina, Baldwin Park, Escondido, and San Diego. In 2015, it separated from other facilities, reverted to Kiesel Guitars, and relocated to Escondido in 2017.
