Maxxis was founded in 1967 in Yuanlin City, Changhua County, Taiwan by Luo Jye, initially producing bicycle tires. Maxxis established its U.S. operations in 1985 with a distribution facility in suburban Atlanta, which grew into a major North American hub headquartered in Suwanee, Georgia. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co., a Taiwanese parent company ranked as the 16th largest tire manufacturer globally.
