Methodical Coffee was founded in February 2015 by Will Shurtz, David Baker, and Marco Suarez, who combined expertise in coffee, business operations, and design respectively. Will Shurtz brought experience from his previous venture, Vagabond Barista, to lead the coffee program. The company began roasting coffee in-house approximately one year after opening the cafe, around 2016. The roastery operates on a made-to-order model, shipping coffee Monday through Thursday to maintain freshness.
