History

Gerard Clement Smit founded Technivorm in Amerongen, Netherlands, in 1964, initially developing household products. In 1968, he designed the first Moccamaster drip coffee brewer, which debuted in the Dutch market in 1969 and was introduced to Scandinavia in 1971 under the Moccamaster name. The KB 741 model launched in 1976 and remains in production with minimal changes. By 2017, the company had sold its 10-millionth unit.1235
