Founded in 1970 by engineers at Autotronic Controls Corporation (ACC) working on White Sands Missile Range projects to improve fuel efficiency through leaner burning systems. The company introduced the world's first multiple spark discharge ignition, gaining popularity in racing by 1976 with products like the 7AL box. Relocated to El Paso, Texas, expanded facilities, and in 2004 was sold by founder Jack Priegel to Gryphon Investors; later acquired by Z Capital in 2013 via MSDG.23
