Founded in 2014 by Michael Eckert, former CEO of The Weather Channel, the NO/LA Angel Network started with 40 members and grew to 140, investing over $19 million in 49 companies.¹⁶ It expanded investments to companies across 17 states with a Louisiana nexus and achieved recognition as one of North America's most active angel groups.¹² In recent years, it rebranded to Gulf South Angels to extend its footprint throughout the Gulf South region while keeping operations in New Orleans.²
