History

Original Lishi Tools originated in the early 2000s when Mr. Li Zhiqin, a master locksmith in Hebei Province, China, began producing lock picks in a backyard factory to help his locksmith friends. In 2009, Mr. Li partnered with UAP Limited, which marketed the tools as Genuine Lishi, but the partnership ended in 2011, leading Mr. Li to rename his business Lizhiqin Tools. In 2015, an Australian partner registered the Original Lishi trademark. The company expanded in late 2017 to a larger factory in Qinhuangdao to meet demand.¹²³⁴
