The Partners Innovation Fund (PIF) is a venture capital fund created by Partners HealthCare (now Mass General Brigham) to invest in healthcare companies based on intellectual property from its research institutions. Launched in 2008 with an initial $35 million commitment, it has grown to $171 million, supporting 37 portfolio companies and spin-offs focused on advancing science, technology, drugs, and digital solutions originating from Partners researchers.12

The Partners Innovation Fund was established in 2008 by Partners HealthCare to advance new science and technology based on its intellectual and financial capital.1 It began with a $35 million commitment and expanded to $171 million through internal and external investments, backing 37 portfolio companies and spin-offs.12 In 2019, it was joined by new funds including the Translational Innovation Fund ($50M over six years) and the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Translation Fund ($30M over five years) to address gaps in pre-clinical life sciences, AI, and digital technology.1
