History

Paslode was founded in 1935 by JW Leslie as an acronym for Packing, Shipping, Loading, and Devices.4 It introduced the first stapling hammer in 1940, the pneumatic nailer in 1959 or 1962, and the Impulse cordless gas-powered framing nailer in 1986.347 The company was acquired by Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in 1986 and later partnered with SPIT in 2002, both under ITW.24
