History

Peugeot Motocycles began in 1898 with the presentation of its first motorbike at the 7th Cycle and Automobile Exhibition, establishing Peugeot as a French producer of automobiles and motorcycles. The company has continuously produced scooters and small bikes, operating production sites in France and China. In 2022-2023, it was acquired by the German holding company Mutares, which took an 80% controlling stake. In October 2025, it entered a partnership with Sherco to sell Sherco-supplied motorcycles under the Peugeot brand, starting with the XP6 Enduro and Supermotard models unveiled at EICMA.
