History

Founded in 1924 by Olav Kavli in Norway as the world's first spreadable cheese. Entered the UK market in 1929; UK operations incorporated as Primula Limited in 1936 (originally Kavli Limited, renamed 2013). Ownership transferred to Kavli Trust in 1962. Recent investments include a £3 million production line in 2023 and additional machinery for export growth.
