Overview

Pulltaps is a Spanish manufacturer of wine accessories, primarily recognized for its two-stroke corkscrews designed for sommeliers and wine professionals. The brand focuses on professional-grade tools made with quality materials, emphasizing ergonomics, aesthetics, and one-handed operation. It holds a position as an industry standard, though it faces competition from numerous imitations.

History

Pulltaps was founded in 1996 in Sabadell, Spain, after Ramón Brucart contacted the Alberich and Vilarrubí families, who had established the metallurgical company TADE in 1963. It initially operated as part of TADE before becoming independent as it grew. Production peaked at 4 million corkscrews annually but declined to 1-2 million due to imitations; the company introduced 'Pulltap’s Genuine' branding and a 'P' engraving since 2014 to distinguish authentic products.
