History

Rane was founded in 1929 as a distributor of automobiles and parts in Madras. The company expanded through the 20th century to become a diversified automotive component supplier, growing to encompass ten different companies by 2013. In 2021, Rane (Madras) Limited acquired the Steering and Components Division from Yagachi Technologies Private Limited. In fiscal year 2024-25, Rane Brake Lining Ltd. and Rane Engine Valve Ltd. amalgamated with Rane (Madras) Ltd., consolidating the group's operations.
