Founded in 1976 by David Schecter in Van Nuys, California, as a repair shop making replacement guitar parts for brands like Fender and Gibson. Investors later relocated production to Dallas, Texas, where guitars were assembled using imported and Schecter parts. It has grown into a subsidiary company mass-producing its own instruments while maintaining a USA Custom Shop.
