Sunshine Makers, Inc. was founded in 1975 by Bruce FaBrizio and his father to create a safer alternative to toxic cleaners for removing tannic acid from coffee roasting machinery, perfecting a biodegradable, non-toxic formula over three years. Initially sold in 55-gallon drums to automotive and industrial customers, it expanded to retail markets including hardware, grocery, and government sales by 1981 when the company was named Sunshine Makers, Inc. In the early 1990s, an Environmental Technology Division was established to advance cleaning solutions; the company remains family-owned by Bruce P.
