History

Singing Rock was founded in 1992 by Czech climbers Vladimír Křapka and Pavel Končinský alongside Belgian business partner Jan Goddefroy, initially as a garage business manufacturing sport climbing harnesses. The company achieved UIAA certification for its first sport harnesses in 1994 and expanded into working harnesses and full-body harnesses by 1995. In 2001, Singing Rock acquired a textile plant in Poniklá to add static and dynamic ropes to its manufacturing portfolio. The company was acquired by Lanex a.s. but was reorganized back as an independent entity (Singing Rock s.r.o.) in 2013 following a spin-off. In 2011, the acquisition of Raveltik expanded the product line to include metal products for ice climbing and mountaineering.

Manufacturing
