Skutt was founded in 1953 by father-son team Ralph and Neil Skutt in Olympia, Washington, under the name Skutt & Sons, producing the first multi-sided hobby kiln. The company later relocated to Portland, Oregon. Third-generation President and Owner Jim Skutt continues to oversee operations.
