Overview

Softspikes produces replaceable plastic golf cleats designed to fit various shoe sole systems. Invented in 1993 as an alternative to metal spikes amid bans by U.S. golf associations, it holds a leading position in the golf traction market. The brand supplies cleats compatible with major golf shoe brands and is recognized as the top choice among professional golfers.

History

Softspikes was founded in 1993 by Faris McMullin in response to metal spike bans, introducing the first patented non-metal plastic cleat. The company merged operations with MacNeill Engineering in the late 1990s, with MacNeill handling manufacturing. In 2003, Pride Manufacturing acquired Softspikes and its UK sister company TriSport Ltd., forming Softspikes as a division of PrideSports.
