History
CCM was founded in 1899 in Weston, Ontario, as the Canadian Cycle & Motor Company, initially producing bicycles before entering the hockey market in 1905 with ice skates made from scrap bicycle steel. By the 1930s, it dominated North American skate production and expanded into sticks, helmets, and other gear used by NHL players. In 2004, it merged with Reebok, was acquired by Adidas, then sold in 2013 to Birch Hill Equity Partners, and later to Altor, refocusing solely on hockey equipment.1345
