The Good Fight Foundation

Overview

The Good Fight Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by UFC fighter Dustin Poirier and his wife Jolie. It raises funds primarily by auctioning Dustin's fight-worn memorabilia, such as trunks, shirts, and wraps, to support underserved communities in Louisiana and international causes like food insecurity, healthcare, and disaster relief. The foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local initiatives including food banks, schools, playgrounds for disabled children, and officer support.

History

Founded in 2018 by Dustin Poirier and Jolie Poirier as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It began with the auction of Dustin's fight kit from UFC 211 against Eddie Alvarez, providing 3,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank. The organization expanded to international efforts, including aid for Uganda's water crisis, and has supported local projects like funding for fallen officer Michael Middlebrook and Acadian Middle School.

Manufacturing

As a nonprofit foundation, it does not manufacture or sell commercial products; funds are raised through auctions of fight memorabilia.

Notable Products

• UFC 211 Fight Kit (vs. Eddie Alvarez) - First auctioned kit, raised funds for 3,000 meals at Second Harvest Food Bank.

Reputation

Perceived positively by MMA fans and communities for tangible impacts like meals, schools, and playgrounds funded through Poirier's auctions. Faced criticism from Conor McGregor in 2024, who publicly labeled it a 'scam' on social media amid personal rivalry, though no evidence supports misconduct claims. Charity Navigator lists it as a valid 501(c)(3) with tax-deductible donations.
