Overview

Tilak is a Czech manufacturer of technical outdoor apparel specializing in high-performance mountaineering gear and GORE-TEX products. Founded to address shortages in climbing equipment, it produces functional clothing for extreme conditions, used by Czech mountain rescue, and offers an urban line called Poutnik. The family-owned brand maintains full production in the Czech Republic and provides a four-year warranty with repair services.127

History

Roman Kamler founded Tilak in 1986 in Czechoslovakia due to the lack of proper outdoor sleeping bags for climbers. The company expanded into technical outerwear and became the only Czech brand licensed by W.L. Gore for GORE-TEX. Still owned and run by Kamler, it has sustained family operation and local manufacturing for over 34 years.2
