History

Touratech was founded in 1990 by Herbert Schwarz and Jochen Schanz, two adventure riders who developed products based on their Africa travels. The central warehouse opened in Niedereschach in 1995, with a new headquarters at Dauchinger Straße 80 built in 2016. Happich GmbH acquired Touratech AG on January 1, 2018, forming Touratech GmbH to continue operations.²⁴⁷
