History

Tricker's was founded in 1829 by Joseph Tricker in Northampton as one of England's longest-established shoemakers. The current factory at 56-60 St Michael's Road opened in 1904, adopting Goodyear welted construction introduced by Walter James Barltrop. It received a royal warrant in 1989 and remained family-owned for five generations until James Fayed acquired a 71% stake in May 2025 via Blu Heartknot UK, with the Barltrop family retaining management involvement.
